VITAE
EOIN LLEWELLYN
Llewellyn lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Having practised art for the past fifteen years he has explored numerous aesthetics and artistic philosophies.
His initial interest in Neo-expressionism led to his own style of fusing large paintings with installation works which explored similar themes to give a richer experience to the viewer.
The constant theme within his work has been the study of metaphysics in religion, science and philosophy and how to explore this through art. The work is always created from the standpoint of addressing the question of the loss of man or the affirmation of man; one’s place within life and life as a whole, the space we inhabit and our corporeal sense of self versus the metaphysical.
This study has led the work through many styles and materials from painting to sculpture-installation and most recently photography.
Llewellyn’s work has been exhibited throughout Ireland, England and Germany and is to be found in both private and public collections throughout the world.
